Help your child tap into their inner creativity by learning how to sew. Did you know, sewing is a life skill that will be useful all their lives and can lead to a source of income that can help them start a business, or make extra money. 


This sewing class is open to girls and boys between the ages of 9 - 15 years old and will be taught by third-generation seamstress, Kacie Starr Long. The class will be held inside her home in Florissant, MO.


Youth Sewing Lessons - 

Saturday Morning Sessions

Class Dates: February 6, 13, 21, & 27th


Class Time: 

9:30 am - 12:30 pm


Your child will learn:

How to thread and operate a sewing machine

How to overclock your stitches using a serger

How to sew straight, even stitches

Understand sewing tools and how to use them

How to determine the right fabric for a sewing project


Our class project will be: Railroad Tote Bag 




Youth Sewing Lessons

  • This is a beginner sewing class for youth. During the four weeks of sewing instruction (12 hours of sewing lessons), students will learn beginner sewing skills by working on a sewing project. 


    Sewing classes will take place on Saturdays  9:30am - 12:30pm every Saturday in February. 

      It is very important that students arrive on time for class and be available for all sewing lessons.


    The sewing class price is $199.00. This price includes all sewing equipment, instruction supplies, and fabric. Payment should be made in advance unless other arrangements have been made with Kacie. There is a 15% discount for siblings.     The class will take place in Florissant, MO. Upon enrollment, you will be sent the location address.

    Covid-19 Safety:

    To ensure Kacie willl wear a mask. Upon entrance of class, students will have their temperature checked and hand sanitizer offered.

    Sewing Experience:

    This is a class designed for beginners or for students who have sewing experience (Intermediate level). If your child has sewing experience and would still like to take the class they are welcome. Please keep in mind that the first class for the beginner session will go over sewing machine basics, fabric selections and sewing straight lines.
